With Spring only 60 days away, warm weather will once again be upon us. You aren't the only one waiting on Spring. Weeds are also waiting for the warmer weather so they can spring into action and take root in your lawn. By the time you see them growing in the lawn it is to late, the infestation has begun.

You can stay a step ahead of most weeds by applying a pre emergent herbicide. The best time to apply your product is before the weather is consistantly above 50 degrees and before you see the first weed. Keep in mind however, you do not want to apply the product to early in the season as the pre emergent will lose effectiveness after 6 to 8 weeks. I live in zone 7 and typically put my pre emergent down at the beginning of February. I follow up in April with a post emergent herbicide.
